I’ve roasted my fair share of turkeys, but this Thanksgiving I wanted to
do things differently. And I wanted to invite my ESL student, so I
really didn’t want the hassle of sourcing a fresh, free-range halal
turkey at the end of November in Canada. So I aimed for something I called Turkish-Inspired Vegetarian American Thanksgiving.

Excellent company, good food, entertaining travel stories. A successful dinner party. Next time, something simpler. Also, we’re going to need a bigger fridge.
