Today we arrived in Yangon, Myanmar (Burma). Although very similar in many aspects to Indonesia and Thailand, it most certainly has it’s own distinguishing qualities. After escaping the airport unscathed (with much effort) from the taxi drivers, we arrived Via Uber at Shwedagon Pagoda. (Pictured below). Thus far I would say this has been the highlight of my trip. The temple is is very large and in fact consists of many temples. You must walk barefoot even up the hundreds of steps before entering. We would eventually find ourselves a little old man who gave us a guided tour of some of the hidden aspects of the temples. Things we definitely would have missed out on without him. While he was difficult to understand his effort and intentions were genuine and very well received.
Currently we sit at JJ express bus station. Where we will take an overnight bus to Bagan.
